Customer Installations - Dust Collectors
Dust Collection in the Rock & Asphalt Industry
Dust collection in the rock and asphalt industry is extremely important because processing rock and asphalt generates an enormous amount of dust. Depending on the processing operation, final product, and
the nature of the material, there are wide arrays of variables that make controlling this dust a problem. The high temperatures
associated with asphalt processing, the high dust loading generated by rock crushing, and the sticky moisture-attracting properties
of rock salt; all make it virtually impossible to use a bag house as a primary collector. The Aerodyne Cylone dust collector handles all of
these issues with ease. Used as a first stage dust collector, the Aerodyne Cyclone relieves the burden put on filter collectors in applications
that would tend to clog or damage bags.

| Four "S" Dust Collectors separate rock dust at 18,000 cfm
at an asphalt plant. The Aerodyne dust collection units were selected
for their high efficiency and ability to handle abrasive
materials. |

| This 22,000 cfm Aerodyne dust collector has significantly reduced severe
dust buildups at transfer points, screens, and belts at this major salt
company's processing plant. Faced with dust buildups involving extremely
fine hygroscopic material, the company selected this collector after bag houses
failed and wet dust collectors posed serious disposal problems. The Aerodyne
dust collector pulls salt-laden air from the first and second floors of the plant, collects
the product for easy handling, and discharges cleaned air into the atmosphere
to meet rigid code requirements. |
